It is important to us that our residents feel safe and secure.
Independent houses have outside sensor lighting and monitored fire and security alarms. Common areas and the entrance to the Lifestyle Village are also visually covered with 24-hour CCTV monitoring.
Residents in independent houses have a personal security pendant to use in an emergency, and in our serviced apartments there are call buttons in the living room, bedroom and bathroom. The serviced apartments are situated within the lodge which is staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
All of Alpine’s staff are required to do orientation and induction training prior to commencing work. They then attend ongoing in-service education sessions and are involved in studying and completing aged care education courses. All staff have a current first aid certificate.
There is also the knowledge that Burwood Hospital is within 1.3 kilometres of the village and is the major Christchurch public hospital for older person's health.
